Week 8 – The Power of Curiosity
This week, I’ve been thinking a lot about curiosity and how it drives learning and keeps life interesting. In school, it’s easy to focus only on assignments or grades, but I’ve noticed that when I follow my own questions — whether it’s exploring new science concepts, dental research, or even tech innovations — I actually retain more and enjoy learning more.
Curiosity pushes me to connect different ideas. For example, learning about AI and how it could improve dental care made me think about ethical considerations, practical applications, and even ways to involve communities in health awareness. When I let myself explore beyond the classroom, I feel more engaged and motivated.
I’ve also realized that curiosity is about being brave enough to ask questions, even if they seem small or silly. Shadowing dentists and talking to professionals in health and tech fields has shown me that asking the right questions often leads to the most meaningful insights.
Going forward, I want to intentionally carve out time to explore the topics I’m curious about, even if they’re not part of my homework. I think curiosity isn’t just a tool for school — it’s a mindset that will help me innovate and grow in whatever I choose to do, especially in dentistry.
