Life Science & Dentistry Research Capstone

For my research capstone, I explored the intersection of life science and dentistry — looking at how biological principles apply to oral health and dental care.
Project overview
The project involved researching how cellular biology, microbiology, and anatomy connect to common dental procedures and preventive care. I presented my findings in a final contact contest format, focusing on making complex science accessible to a general audience.

What I learned
This project reinforced my interest in dentistry as a career that sits at the intersection of science and patient care. Presenting research also helped me develop my public speaking and communication skills — something I value from my Destination Imagination experience as well.
I’m planning to build on this work with more research projects throughout high school.
